Craving a delicious creamy chocolate pudding with added nutritional benefits? This chocolate avocado pudding recipe ticks all the boxes!

Did you know that one avocado:

  • consists of 44% healthy fats,
  • has a dietary fibre of 13g,
  • and is high in potassium and vitamin C? (source)

It’s also the perfect ingredient for this pudding as it is the main creamy component, does not affect taste and makes this recipe naturally dairy free, gluten free and vegan.  And if you’re not a fan of avocados, I promise you won’t be able to taste it as the chocolate over-powers it. This pudding is also refined-sugar free and is sweetened with agave syrup. It’s amazing how you cannot tell that this is a nutritious chocolate avocado pudding! Make sure to use high-quality chocolate that is allergen-friendly. Of course, if you aren’t vegan or allergic to anything, you can use any chocolate you like.



Chocolate Avocado Pudding

This recipe is in one of my favourite categories; Quick and Easy. I have so many recipes that fit this description, that I had to make a category dedicated to it. Life can get so busy that sometimes you just want to whip up a yummy dessert in 10 minutes or less. Plus, who wants the hassle of washing the dishes and utensils after? Well, I’ve got you! All you need is a blender or food processor, two ripe avocados, and an appetite for a heavenly pudding. It is seriously so light, there is no guilt if you decide to devour both servings (as I might have possibly done). I did leave some for family members to try though, and they absolutely loved it and asked for more!

Chocolate Avocado Pudding Recipe (Gf, Df, Vg)

Chocolate Avocado Pudding

Craving a delicious creamy chocolate pudding with added nutritional benefits? This recipe ticks all the boxes and is gluten free, dairy free and vegan!

Prep Time 10 minutes
Chill Time 30 minutes
Total Time 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados
  • 1 tsp lemon juice, optional
  • 80g dark chocolate, melted
  • 1/3 cup milk of choice
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 5 tbsp agave or syrup of choice
  • 1/2 tsp salt, optional
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder, sifted
  • Chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Blend ripe avocados with lemon juice until completely smooth.
  2. Add melted chocolate and blend together.
  3. Pour in the milk, vanilla, syrup and salt. Blend.
  4. Finally, sift in the cocoa powder and blend for the last time.
  5. Pour in more milk if needed for desired consistency.
  6. Make sure everything is well-blended and incorporated.
  7. Spoon into two glasses or small bowls and chill for 30 minutes.
  8. Serve topped with chocolate shavings. Enjoy!

Notes

Store for a maximum of 48 hours in the refrigerator. After a longer period, you will be able to smell and taste the avocado.

  1. The avocados HAVE to be ripe to get a creamy consistency.
  2. Make sure there are no avocado lumps in the first step.
  3. I used hazelnut milk but you can use any kind of milk you prefer.
  4. Do not reduce the amount of syrup as it will taste bitter.
